Adult Developmental Homes (ADH)

 

Aimage of Tucson Residence Foundationdult Developmental Home providers are in high demand and a critical part of a specialized support model.  They provide support and guidance to adults with developmental disabilities.  The individuals placed in Developmental Homes present with a wide range of disabilities, medical conditions and/or behavioral issues.

 

Adult Developmental Home Providers receive tax free compensation while positively impacting the life’s of others.

Adult Developmental Home providers open their homes and hearts in assisting individuals with disabilities in areas such as:

  • Developing and fostering independent living skills
  • Supporting full inclusion into their communities
  • Actively participating in the development of the Individual Service Plan
  • Creating an environment that promotes and encourages ongoing learning as well as personal growth
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships
  • Assist in developing vocational skills to obtain competitive employment
  • Provide opportunities for individual to interact socially with family, friends and community members
  • Provide training and supervision for the individual to increase or maintain self-help skills

 

These adults are placed by the Arizona Department of Economic Security’s Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) along with family involvement to ensure the individual receives the specialized care he or she requires.  The model is specifically designed for adults, ages 18 and older that has one of the following developmental disabilities:

  • Intellectual Disability
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Autism
  • Epilepsy

 

Tucson Residence Foundation Licensing Specialist assists families in applying for and maintaining a License to care for adults with developmental disabilities in their homes.

 

Licensing Requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
  • You must be of honest and reputable character
  • You must have available space in your home
  • Adults residing in the home must be fingerprinted by the Office of Special Investigations
  • All adults residing in the home must submit to a background check through Child Protective Services & Adult Protective Services
  • You must provide releases of information to conduct all background checks
  • You must complete required trainings
  • You must have income or resources to meet the financial needs of the family and show proof of income
  • You must have reliable transportation, and current insurance & registration
  • You must be able to successfully complete the State inspection process
  • You must be able to meet the needs of the individual(s) placed in your home

  • CPR / First Aid
  • Policies & Procedures
  • Individual Support Plans
  • Incident Reporting
  • Behavior Management
  • Prevention & Support
  • Article 9
  • Medication Administration

 

As a Licensing Specialist we monitor homes for licensing regulation compliance on a continual basis and offer technical assistance when areas of need arise.  TRF provides full assistance and guidance to potential Providers including:

  • Completion of Initial licensing application
  • Complete annual license renewal studies
  • Facilitate training opportunities
  • Complete quarterly home visits
  • Have regular phone contact to maintain the relationship with each of our providers

 

Your Licensing Specialist also works as a member advocate for individuals placed within our homes through visits to home, school, day and vocational settings.  We assist our Providers with the completion of monthly paperwork related to each individual.

Our Licensing Specialist serves in many roles:

  • Home Supervisor
  • DDD Liaison
  • Training Coordinator
  • Support Specialist
